An Israeli Border Police officer wounded last week in a car ramming attack at Halhoul Junction near Hevron has died of his wounds.

19-year-old Binyamin Ya'akobovitz became the 12th Israeli fatality since the start of October, as Arab terrorists carried out daily attacks against civilians, police and soldiers alike.

Binyamin was evacuated to Hadassah Ein Kerem hospital with serious head injuries, and had been fighting for life in intensive care until Sunday evening, when he finally succumbed to his wounds.

The attack occurred last Wednesday at around 16:00, when a Palestinian driver accelerated directly at a group of Border Police, plowing directly into Binyamin.

Other officers standing nearby opened fire at the car, killing the terrorist at the scene.

Ya'akobovitz had joined the Border Police just a year and a half ago; he leaves behind his parents, one brother and two sisters.

Upon his family's request his organs will be donated, in their words, as "an act which could help save a life or significantly improve the life of a person in need."

His funeral will take place tomorrow (Monday) at 18:00 in Kiryat Atta military cemetery.
