MK Ahmed Tibi (Joint List) had Absorption Minister Ze'ev Elkin (Likud) thrown out of the Knesset on Wednesday after an unprecedented fiery exchange of words between the two.

Speaking from the Knesset platform, Elkin blasted the Deputy Knesset Speaker and members of his Joint List party, stressing that "the blood of the murdered" was on their hands.

Tibi took advantage of his position running the Knesset session and told Elkin to be quiet, asserting: "I am the sovereign."

The defiant Elkin responded, "you will never be sovereign," whereupon Tibi ordered Knesset guards to remove Elkin from the platform.

Tibi simultaneously demanded that Elkin apologize. The minister refused and Tibi ordered him out of the Knesset chamber.
