Just which politician do Israelis think is able of stopping the current Arab terror wave plaguing the country? According to a new Channel 2 poll published Friday, the answer to that question is Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman.

The poll, conducted by Midgam and iPanel for the news channel, found no less than 29% of respondents felt Liberman was the best option for fighting the current terror, up from 22% last week.

By contrast, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was picked by only 17%, in just a slight increase from 15% last week - despite his announcement of a string of new security measures during last week.

Despite having been in the last coalition government, Liberman made a point in the last elections to call for the death penalty for terrorists, and ended up not joining the current coalition, saying it wasn't willing to commit to the necessary security steps.

Jewish Home chairperson Naftali Bennett fell hard in the poll, being selected by just 11% after receiving 17% last week.

The poll was rounded out by former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi, who may join Yesh Atid, and was chosen by 9% after receiving 10% last week. Opposition head Yitzhak Herzog (Zionist Camp) stayed at 5%, and Yesh Atid head Yair Lapid went from 4% to 5%.

A separate question asked participants if they are satisfied with Netanyahu's functioning in the current wave of terror.

A full 72% said they are not satisfied, in a near identical to the 73% marked last week.
