Jewish Home MK Moti Yogev derided US Secretary of State John Kerry for his "irrational" comments Tuesday, in which he linked the ongoing wave of Arab terrorism against Israelis with "settlements" - namely, the existence of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

Speaking to Harvard Professor Graham Allison in Cambridge, Massachusetts, Kerry implied that a "massive increase in settlements" is the reason for the "violence."

Responding to the comments Yogev, who is also a Colonel in the IDF reserves, cited the Obama administration's poor record on foreign policy, particularly in the Middle East.

"There is no doubt that John Kerry has made every mistake possible in every Middle East country and around the world," Yogev said. "We already knew that there was no way Kerry would analyze the current situation rationally."

Apart from the Jewish people's integral historic, national and religious connection to Judea and Samaria - where much of the Biblical narrative took place and where Jewish society thrived for thousands of years - Yogev noted that far from encouraging deadly terrorism, an Israeli presence in the strategic central highlands prevented far worse attacks.

"Security and settlements throughout the land of Israel have always been two components that reinforce one another," he said.

We will continue to build and be built up throughout our land forever, and the settlement enterprise will continue to strengthen our security."
