Jordan's King Abdullah II threatened an "explosion" over Israel cracking down on violent Muslim riots on the Temple Mount on Sunday, stating in a meeting with Arab MKs that he will broach the issue in the United Nations next week.

"I say this bluntly - there is cooperation and there is no division, Al-Aqsa is a place of worship for Muslims," Abdullah stated in his meeting with six Joint List MKs, according to Maariv.

"What does Netanyahu wants through his actions, to cause an explosion?" he added. "I follow closely what is happening on the Temple Mount, and it will be an important issue in my meetings with world leaders at the United Nations next week."

Earlier Sunday, a Joint List delegation left Israel for Jordan and Turkey to discuss Israel's "provocations" in enforcing the law against rock-throwers and Muslim rioters.

The delegation included deputy Knesset Speaker Ahmed Tibi and fellow Joint List MKs Jamal Zahalka, Aida Touma-Sliman, Taleb Abu Arar, and Osama Sa'adi - several of whom have themselves been involved in violent Pro-Palestinian riots on the Temple Mount and elsewhere over the past year.

Jordan has also accused Israel of "provocations" and "attempts to change the status quo" at the Temple Mount, threatening to "take action" should Israel not stop its actions.

Jordan has threatened to recall its ambassador - as it did from last November until February - over Israel defending the Temple Mount, which is the holiest site in Judaism, from a band of violent Muslim rioters on Sunday.

Amman has also threatened on several occasions recently to revoke the peace treaty so as to pressure Israel to allow the Jordanian Waqf to continue denying Jews their rights to pray at the Temple Mount.
