MK Haim Yellin (Yesh Atid) offered an emotional response to the UN report published Monday alleging Israel committed war crimes during last summer's Operation Protective Edge.

Holding a picture of Daniel Tragerman, the young boy from Kibbutz Nahal Oz killed by mortar fire from Gaza during the war, Yellin addressed the Knesset plenum.

"This child, that I knew well - Daniel Tragerman, a child of four, paid with his life because of the morality of the Israeli Defense Forces," Yellin, who was head of the Eshkol Regional Council during the war, stated.

"An army that knew terrorists were launching rockets from Sheijaya toward Nahal Oz, but also knew that there were 3,500 uninvolved civilians in the same area."

"The IDF did everything to save bystanders," Yelling continued. "[They] distributed leaflets, tapped on the door and sometimes didn't even fire."

"No one can teach me what morality is," the MK thundered. "I lived across the Gaza Strip for 39 years. I immigrated from a dictatorship, served in the IDF, lost friends because they did everything to protect innocent people on the other side."

The difference between Israel and Hamas, Yellin stressed, is that "we teach how to defend and they teach how to kill."
