Four people were injured in a gas explosion Monday morning, after a gas canister exploded in a private home on Silwan Blvd. near the Dung Gate in Jerusalem.

Magen David Adom (MDA) medics were called to the scene and evacuated the injured to hospitals in Jerusalem.

A 4 year-old boy who was critically injured was taken to Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Jerusalem after medics performed CPR; another child in serious condition was evacuated to Hadassah Hospital on Mount Scopus.

A woman of about 24 in critical condition was transferred to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center for treatment and a 50 year-old man with moderate injuries was transferred to Shaarei Tzedek Hospital.

All of the injured are suffering from burns and shrapnel injuries.

"All the victims were evacuated from the scene," Avi Hovev, deputy director of the MDA's Jerusalem Division, stated to Arutz Sheva. "Firefighters are currently still working here but there are probably no more casualties."

The Fire Department reported that the fire brigades were called to the scene, rescued those trapped inside the apartment and took control of the fire.
