Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will lead talks with senior security officials on Friday, an aide told AFP, after a framework agreement between Tehran, several European Union countries, and the US was reached Thursday night.
"The prime minister will hold security consultations," the aide said, without providing details.
Local media reported that Netanyahu had called a meeting of his security cabinet, including ministers, as well as senior officials from Israel's
security services.
The outline agreement aimed at curbing Iran's nuclear drive was clinched Thursday after marathon talks in Switzerland and marks a major breakthrough in a 12-year standoff between Iran and the West, which has long feared Tehran wants to build an atomic bomb.
Israel has warned relentlessly against such a deal and Netanyahu said Thursday that an agreement would have to "significantly roll back Iran's nuclear capabilities."
Several Israeli officials, as well, called the deal an "historic mistake" and added that "all options are on the table."
Israel has noted that there are 17 states which have peaceful nuclear programs, and none of them enrich uranium as Iran will be allowed to continue doing.
In addition to openly calling for the destruction of Israel, Iran has continued to exhibit its overt hostility towards America as well.
