Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will meet with the haredi parties on Wednesday, to discuss the possibilities for forming a coalition government in the 20th Knesset.

First, Netanyahu met with Ashkenazi haredi party United Torah Judaism (UTJ) chairman Yaakov Litzman for coalition talks Wednesday afternoon.

Litzman demanded backtracking on several key laws passed in the 19th Knesset to the detriment of the haredi community - including the scaling back of child allowance subsidies, the criminal sanctions section of the Shaked Law (haredi draft - ed.), and large-scale cuts to yeshivas (Torah academies - ed.).

After the meeting, Netanyahu announced that he will appoint Litzman as Deputy Health Minister, and give the Knesset Finance Committee chairman position to UTJ MK Moshe Gafni as well.

Shas Chairman Aryeh Deri, meanwhile, has demanded the Interior Ministry, and it is rumored that Netanyahu will give him the position during his meeting with Shas Wednesday evening.

On Wednesday night, President Reuven Rivlin is to announce the next prime minister, formally sealing Netanyahu's victory after he outpaced Labor by a wide margin of 30 mandates to 24.

Netanyahu has already secured the support of a full 67 MKs, well surpassing the 61 seat majority required to form a coalition.
