Sleep counseling for babies, career counseling, fitness and nutrition consultations - just some of the services consultants were offering free of charge to members of the public in Tel Aviv Tuesday.

The free sessions were held along the city's Rothschild Boulevard as part of the 10th annual "Good Deeds Day," a global initiative set up to encourage people to give of themselves to "choose to volunteer and help others, putting into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, be it large or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world."

Organizers say the initiative has grown more popular in Israel each year; this year more than 800,000 Israelis have signed up for more than 10,000 projects.

Tuesday's event also gave small businesses a chance to market their services to a wider audience.
