Israeli basketball legend Tal Brody believes that the relationship between Israel and the United States is “stronger than it’s ever been”.

The American-born Brody, who was a member of the Maccabi Tel Aviv basketball that won the European Cup in 1977, spoke to Arutz Sheva from the General Assembly of the Jewish Federations of North America.

“If you read the papers you think that our relationship with the United States is terrible, but in fact it’s stronger than it’s ever been,” he said. “I think Joe Biden mentioned it in his speech - that 1/5 of the military budget in the last seven years is coming from the American government, and also about the $100 million that went in for the Iron Dome.”

The American government, added Brody, “is solidly behind Israel. I think that not everything you read in the paper has to be true.”

As for the disagreements between Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and President Barack Obama, Brody said, “In every family, as Joe Biden said, you have arguments and difference of opinion but nothing has changed.”
