An explosion was heard outside Maale Adumim early Wednesday. Security forces rushed to the scene and discovered that the explosion occurred when a pipe bomb was thrown, apparently from a passing vehicle. No one was injured, and there was no damage.

Police said that the bomb was most likely an attempted terror attack, with the terrorists possibly aiming for a truck or bus and missing. A police statement said that “around 4 AM a blast was heard at the traffic circle between Maale Adumim and the village of Azariya. A search by Maale Adumim police and local security officials yielded the remains of a pipe bomb that was thrown from a vehicle, which disappeared.”

Police have opened an investigation, and are confident they will catch the perpetrators.
