A Gazan father has named his newborn son “Fajr”, after the Iranian-made missile that Gaza terrorists fired towards Tel Aviv and Jerusalem during Israel’s anti-terror Operation Pillar of Defense.
A TV report on the naming of the infant aired on the Hizbullah affiliated Al-Manar TV on November 28. The report was translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI).
“The Fajr missiles were the spearhead of the battle in which Gaza brought down the awe of Israel,” the reporter says. “The people here know the meaning of honor. They know that these moments of victory must linger beyond a slap to the barbaric face of Israel.”
“This baby is called Fajr because it emerged from the battle that will bear a name of honor brought by this type of missile,” he continues.
The baby’s father explains, “We called him Fajr-3 after the missiles that pulverized the [Zionist] entity, bringing real pain upon it. These missiles played an active role in the decisive victory in Gaza.”
During the Israeli operation, Iranian Parliament speaker Ali Larijani said Iran had supplied military aid to Hamas, which controls Gaza since taking power in a bloody coup in 2007.
"We are proud to defend the people of Palestine and Hamas ... and that our assistance to them has been both financial and military," Larijani said.
Iran's Revolutionary Guards chief General Mohammad Ali Jafari also said that Tehran had provided the "technology" for the Fajr missiles used to target Tel Aviv, but denied supplying the actual weapons. He claimed they were being "rapidly produced" in Gaza.
