The IDF Bik'a Brigade was tested Sunday in a surprise drill ordered by IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Benny Gantz.

The forces rehearsed a scenario in which a soldier was abducted from the Bekaot Checkpoint to Shechem. They also practiced for a scenario in which terrorists infiltrate a community in Judea and Samaria, similar to the ghastly massacre of the Fogel family in Itamar earlier this year.

Three months ago the Chief of Staff ordered a similar surprise drill in the Binyamin region. He was talking to soldiers when he ordered the drill, without having given commanders any advance warning. That rehearsal simulated mass rioting by Arabs.
