IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Yoav Mordechai said that initial examination of Gilad Shalit showed that he is in good physical shape.

The IDF Spokesman's Unit also announced that by noon, all terrorists who were being freed had been transferred to Palestinian Authority hands near the Ofer Camp and at the Kerem Shalom Crossing.

Mordechai said, "Gilad goes from here to IAF Base Tel Nof where he will meet the prime minister, defense minister and chief of staff, and immediately afterwards – his family.

"After his examination ends at Tel Nof he will go on to his home at Mitzpe Hila."

Shalit was examined by a Medical Corps team and found to be in generally "good and stable" condition after an initial checkup.
