The Sukkot weather forecast of seasonably cool temperature is a perfect opportunity to tour the open-air Air Force museum at the Hatzerim base near Be’er Sheva.

Cool weather and even a few sprinkles are forecast to fall in the northern and coastal regions during the first two days of Sukkot, but the weather in the Negev is expected to be mild under sunny skies.

The Hatzerim museum, located approximately 10 minutes east of Be’er Sheva, features old two-seater planes that were used in the first days of Israel’s modern history, as well as helicopters, tanks and other weaponry that children can climb on.

A Sukkah is available for eating during the holiday.

There also is a large passenger plane in which an action-packed video relates the history of the Air Force

The museum will be open Sunday, Monday and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. and until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, the afternoon before the Shmini Atzeret-Simchat Torah, which concludes the holiday season.
