The Supreme Court has accepted the Prosecutor's Office's appeal of a sentence handed to Shachar Rimoni, who was convicted of sexually abusing a 10-year-old girl in Haifa.
Rimoni will now serve a prison sentence of 20 years, instead of the original 17.
With the increase in Rimoni's sentence, the Court accepted the State's position that due to the extremely severe circumstances of the case, the sentence must reach nearer to the maximum allowed under law.
