Albert Ramdin, the Foreign Minister of Suriname, which has announced that it will be opening an embassy in Jerusalem, has invited Israelis to visit his country.

"I invite all Israelis to visit us," he told Kan Bet news today. "Our country had a Jewish community dating back to the 17th century, and all Israelis should find it fascinating to visit and celebrate with us.

"We still have a Jewish community," he added, "which is small but strong."
