The Likud responded to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett's remarks about the Flag March.
"Just as Bennett boasted of the fruits of the Abraham Accords, in which he had no part, so today he boasts of the deterrence achieved by the Netanyahu government against Hamas, in which he also had no part. A year ago, the Netanyahu government ordered the IDF to inflict the heaviest blow on Hamas in its history. After being hit hard, this year it did not dare to fire even one rocket," the Likud said.
"Bennett also lies when he recycles the lie as if Netanyahu forced the security forces to change the route of the Flag March, while their recommendation was to hold the flag parade but start it elsewhere. Just as it was right to adopt the security officials' recommendation then, so it is right to adopt it today and start it at the Damascus Gate, after the crushing deterrence against Hamas was achieved by the Netanyahu government."
