The Israeli consul in New York, Assaf Zamir, commented on the Texas massacre in which 19 children and two adults were murdered during an interview on Kan News.

"It hurts. A disaster of the largest proportions. It re-ignites the debate over the right to bear arms - a political issue with two determined sides, and a lot of despair that even such an event cannot do much to alter. There is an astronomical number of hate crimes [in the US]," he said.
