US Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Chris Magnus called the Texas shooting a "senseless tragedy."
“On behalf of the entire CBP workforce, I extend my deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims from today’s horrific school shooting in Uvalde, Texas," he was quoted as saying by CNN.
A spokesperson for the DHS also said that one Border Patrol agent was wounded while responding to the incident.
