Yamina party chairman MK Nir Orbach has appealed to the Public Security Minister, Omer Barlev, asking him to address Arab violence, specifically the incident that occurred in Jerusalem on Monday.

"I do not think that there is any special relevance to the stated reasons for the riots - the funeral, the anger - because violence is violence," Orbach wrote. "It must be stopped. Freedom of expression and freedom of protest are dwarfed by the public's right to live in safety and especially in the wake of such sights.

"I will not accept a situation in which our security forces endanger their lives in order to protect a warped freedom of expression. I demand that all available means be used to protect the lives of our security forces, such as water cannon and so forth."
