Former PM Benjamin Netanyahu congratulated the new Emirati leader on taking up the throne in the Gulf kingdom.
"Congratulations to my good friend and partner for peace, His Excellency Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, on becoming President of the Unites Arab Emirates. I am confident that under your leadership the strong friendship between our nations will continue to prosper and reach new heights," wrote Netanyahu on his Twitter page.
