Chairman of Otzma Yehudit, MK Itamar Ben Gvir responded to police violence reported from Meron ahead of Lag B'Omer.
"The police are big heroes when it comes to dealing with haredim and weak against the real terrorists. It is true that we [don't know] what happened before [the demonstrator] was apprehended and it is certainly possible that he got the officer mad, but we saw how the police showed restraint on the Temple Mount against Molotov cocktails and on the other hand lose their cool when it comes to the haredim, treating them like punching bags. This type of behavior cannot repeat itself."
"I expect the Department for Police Investigations to open an inquiry against the shocking conduct of the police officer," he added.
