The Minister of Education, Yifat Shasha-Biton, spoke at the opening of the Israel Awards Ceremony for the year 2002 and referred to planned reforms of Israel's matriculation testing process.
"This change will allow teachers to fulfill their educational dream. The old methods of matriculation will no longer be a barrier for them to advance the renewal of learning and the education system," said Shasha-Biton.
