MK Sami Abu Shehadeh, chairman of the Joint Arab List faction, attacked celebrations marking 74 years since Israel's independence.
"The independence that Israel is celebrating today was built on the ruins of the indigenous Palestinian people. It is an occupying, expelling and oppressive independence. We will continue to fight for liberating independence based on freedom, justice and human rights. [Today] we are marking our Nakba Day (catastrophe)," said Abu Shehadeh.
