MK Nir Barkat (Likud) toured Beit El in Samaria today, and was impressed by the progress made in construction of high-rise residential buildings in the community.
MK Barkat was accompanied by council head Shai Alon, who also showed him the local archeological sites and described the challenges facing the community, especially regarding its access road and the hoped-for removal of the local military base in order to make way for hundreds of housing units, a plan that has been postponed for years.
"We are delighted to be hosting MK Nir Barkat who came to listen to the needs of the community and its residents," Alon said. "Our main tasks now are to address the issue of the access road and to promote construction and enhance the quality of life of the residents of Beit El."
