Several caravans that were serving as dormitories for yeshiva students in Modi'in Illit have gone up in flames.

Deputy fire commander Lahav Yotam Sela described the scene:

"When our teams arrived, we found a blaze in an open area and a number of mobile homes on fire. We immediately began working to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading, and also began to extinguish it where possible. The fire was soon brought under control but three caravans were damaged, where yeshiva students had been living.

"We're now at the start of summer," he continued, "and people must remember to adhere to safety rules. Dry brush growing around homes should be cleared so that if fire does break out, it will not spread to people's residences."
