Polskie Górnictwo Naftowe i Gazownictwo S.A., the Polish state-controlled oil and gas company, announced it would be taking legal action following Russia's cutting off gas supplies to the country.
Russian gas company Gazprom announced that it had stopped supplying gas to Poland and Bulgaria and would continue doing so until the two eastern European states transferred a payment in rubles according to demands presented by Russia's President Putin in response to sanctions by the West.
