The Russian gas company "Gazprom" officially announced this morning that it was stopping natural gas supplies to Poland and Bulgaria.
The state-owned firm said that the move comes due to the two Eastern European nations' failure to transfer payments in Russian rubles in accordance with demands presented by President Putin.
Putin has decreed all trade with Russian-owned companies be carried out in the Russian currency as a way of strengthening the ruble following sanctions from the West.
