Responding to the death threats received by the Prime Minister's family, MK Bezalel Smotrich said:

"I have no idea if the news that police have opened an investigation into threats sent to Bennett is simply spin designed to improve his position and delegitimize the right-wing and its justified protests against Bennett, or something genuine.

"What I do know is that violence should never be allowed to enter the picture. But this would not be the first time that the right-wing has been silenced via accusations of 'incitement.'

"There are crazies on both sides of the debate," Smotrich added, "and the security services should deal with them and prevent violence. But this has nothing to do with a sharp and pointed political and public criticism of horrific acts that Bennett and his associates have done and are doing. We oppose violence of any kind and will continue to criticize the government and work for its immediate replacement."
