Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Biton has presented her reforms for the bagrut (matriculation) curriculum, which will apply in grades 10, 11, and 12, although starting only with this year's grade 10 (i.e. those in grades 11 and 12 will continue learning according to the old system).
The new program will permit teachers to choose their methods of teaching from among three options. The first option is "up-to-date learning," which incorporates learning via videos, online projects, and class research projects, as well as "independent learning," online learning, and out-of-school learning.
Teachers will also be permitted to draw up a list of assignments that will be used to assess how well students are acquiring age-appropriate skills.
