At least 12 African refugees and migrants were pronounced dead as four boats with 120 people aboard sank off the coast of Tunisia, a security official told Reuters.
According to the report, 98 of the migrants have been rescued.
The boat was headed for Italy. Local officials say they've detained more than 20,000 migrants over the past year, while at least 15,000 reached its coasts.
