Following a week of clashes between police and Arab rioters on the Temple Mount, Joint Arab List MK Ahmad Tibi condemned a statement on behalf of the Religious Zionism party slamming the closure of the holy site to Jews in the last days of Ramadan.

"Since 1967, it has always been forbidden for Jews to enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque in the last 10 days of the month of Ramadan due to the 'Ethikaf' (seclusion ritual) of Muslims in the mosque," said Tibi.

"There is nothing new in this announcement, so the statement by the Religious Zionism party is incitement and misleading," he added.
