In an interview with Galei Zahal, the head of the Eshkol Regional Council, Gadi Yarkoni, responded to the recent rocket fire into the Gaza envelope:
"We are returning to life as usual. It is a strenuous event that puts children and adults in turmoil, but the wisdom is that we, the civic leadership - will return the community to life as normal, as much as possible, and the leadership of the State of Israel will respond strongly," Yarkoni said, adding:
"We must continue to visit the Gaza envelope and build the new immigrant homes here. We will open the State of Israel within its borders - we just need support from the state."
