The mayor of Jerusalem, Moshe Lion, referred to the security tensions in the city and the priestly blessing at the Western Wall:
"Fewer worshipers than expected showed up for the Birkat Kohanim, but things like what happened yesterday are not ignored. At the moment we are satisfied with the personal security situation in the city. Here and there there are fights and injuries, but they are dealt with. This is a minority and we will not let it happen," Lion said to Galei Zahal.
