The Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi David Lau, appealed to the entire Israeli public to refrain from bringing chametz to hospitals, despite the High Court ruling.
"In this way, we will express the recognition that we live [together] in one place, in a Jewish state, and have consideration for one another," wrote Rabbi Lau.
