Two policemen were injured last night after arriving in the Bedouin town of Rahat in southern Israel to disperse a local brawl.

After arriving on the scene, police were attacked by locals using stones and roadblocks.

One policeman was slightly injured and required medical attention, while the other was treated at the scene. Police vehicles were also damaged in the attack.

A 21-year-old suspect was detained. A gun, which he allegedly threw away during an attempt to avoid arrest, was seized during the raid.
