Public Security Minister Omer Barlev visited the police station near the Western Wall, where a situational assessment was conducted with the participation of Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai, ISA director Ronen Bar, and Central Command Commander Maj. Gen. Yehuda Fox.
During the assessment of the situation, Minister Barlev said, "We are in a very sensitive period, and the challenge facing the Israel Police is significant. It is important to act decisively and vigorously against terrorism, but also responsibly and judiciously in order to prevent unnecessary escalation. We have no intention of infringing on the freedom of worship on the Temple Mount, but on the other hand, we will not allow riots and violence, and we will act against them with all means at our disposal. The last few weeks have shown the importance of our police officers, and the exceptional results of their cooperation with the IDF and ISA."
