Iraq's air defense systems intercepted a UAV in the vicinity of the Ain Al-Assad airbase housing US troops.
It is not clear if the drone was on an intelligence mission or carrying explosive devices and targeting American troops.
No property damage was reported and there were no casualties in the incident.
