Minister of the Interior Ayelet Shaked (Yamina) announced that after examining all the information given to her, including professional background materials, it seems that the situation in the Democratic Republic of Congo has improved and there is no longer any justification for the comprehensive non-exclusion policy that was applied to Congolese citizens residing in Israel.
In light of the aforesaid, within 30 days, the matter of the Congolese citizens residing in Israel will be examined solely on an individual basis, including a decision on asylum applications that have been or will be submitted.
