MK Moshe Gafni, head of the United Torah Judaism party, has met with the director-general of the Finance Ministry as well as the head of the government companies authority in order to report what he claims is discrimination against haredi candidates for senior positions in government ministries.

According to Gafni, he has received a large number of complaints from haredi men and women who are qualified for senior civil service positions but are repeatedly overlooked by their superiors and do not receive promotions.

"Aside from the blatant discrimination, this violates a law that I advanced to address the problem," Gafni said. The two government representatives with whom he met pledged to do what they could to help.
