Winner of the Israel Prize in the field of Lifetime Achievement, the founder and operator of the Shanti House for at-risk youth, Mariuma Klein Shanti expressed her feelings about receiving the prize in an interview with Galei Tzahal:
"There are moments in life when you do not have many words. I feel it is a privilege. I would like every word of mine to be [expressed] also from a place of modesty, because for me all I do is meet a new hero every day," Mariuma said.
