A spokesman for Jordan's foreign ministry condemned Israel's "escalation" of the conflict with the PA following a visit of top rabbis to the Temple Mount today (Monday).

The Jordan Times wrote quoted the country's foreign ministry as saying the holy place was a, "place of worship for Muslims only, stressing the need to halt all procedures that hinder worshippers' access to the mosque during Ramadan."

According to the report, the minister called the visit a "break-in of extremists," saying that, "their acts are considered a violation of the historical and legal status quo and international law," and that the, "unilateral procedures that might only lead to more escalation and violence."
