Prof. Tzachi Grossman, chairman of Israel's Pediatrics Association, expressed concern over the traces of polio being found in sewage throughout Israel.
"The presence of evidence of polio in sewage in other places in the country is evidence that the virus is being transmitted to humans and may cause cases such as that of the 4-year-old from Jerusalem who suffered from polio. We cannot afford to ignore this," Grossman said.
