7.0 magnitude earthquake strikes New Caledonia

A 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck New Caledonia on Thursday (local time), the United States Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 miles). There was no risk of a tsunami and no injuries have been reported thus far.
