Police Commissioner Yaakov Shabtai spoke with Sergeant E., the policeman who arrived at the scene together with Sergeant Amir Khoury, who was killed in the attack in Bnei Brak.
"You are both heroes, you demonstrated heroism in a shootout with a terrorist who intended to carry out a massacre," he said.
The commissioner also spoke with Jeris Khoury, father of Amir Khoury who was killed in the attack, and expressed his condolences to the family: "This is a difficult event and a great tragedy for the police. It is important for me to tell you that your son saved many civilians tonight. Tonight your son became a legacy and a memory of heroism for an entire country."
