MK Uri Maklev (United Torah Judaism) attacked Minister of Health Nitzan Horowitz (Meretz) for ordering hospitals to allow chametz during Passover.

'Unfortunately, the Minister of Health brings his personal agendas into the Ministry of Health at the expense of public health. Most of the people of Israel guard against leavened bread on Passover. The Minister of Health is preventing religious and traditional people from receiving medical treatment in the hospitals on Passover,' said Maklev.

Maklev added, 'This is not only a violation of the state's character, but also a huge obstacle in practice - you cannot give kosher certification for Passover where chametz is introduced. How can we see the Passover Seder [being possible] in hospitals when someone may enter with a pita falafel?'
