Following an undercover police investigation, seven suspects from the Bedouin communities were detained for questioning and dozens of more suspects in the affair are expected to be questioned later.
The investigation revealed that some of the suspects, who operated illegal 'security companies,' forced their services upon building contractors at dozens of construction and infrastructure worksites in the south and center of the country, making extortionary threats and sowing fear among the contractors and the construction workers.
