The father-in-law of the leader of the Gur Hassidic sect, Yitzhak Shapira, has held a series of meetings over the last few months both with Minister Yair Lapid and with Naftali Bennett's chief of staff to present a proposal for cooperation.
The proposal included a six-month period of cessation of anti-Haredi legislation, with an emphasis on the reform of 'kosher' telephones, which is especially important to the Rebbe of Gur, in exchange for Haredi support for the coalition should some parties refuse to back a coalition vote.
